I am an applied economist with an interest in various types of inequalities.
My current research focuses on inequalities in labour market outcomes by gender, ethnicity, and disability. I am also interested in unemployment, on-the-job search and retirement, as well as on the impact of immigration and on the determinants of anti-immigration attitudes. Most of my research uses large individual and household data such as the UK Labour Force Survey, the British Household Panel Study, and the UK Household Longitudinal Study.
I am currently Professor at the Department of Economics of the University of Reading. I am also Research Fellow of the Institute for the Study of Labour (IZA) and Research Affiliate of the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (CReAM).
